Doug Barker, a lawyer since 1980, was a litigator and partner at Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich (now DLA Piper) for the first 14 years of his legal career. In 1994 he became a principal in Barker Olmsted & Barnier. From 1984 through the late 1990′s, Doug worked in ADR as a court-appointed arbitrator and arbitrated hundreds of cases. Doug has trained as a mediator at NCRC (National Conflict Resolution Center), at Pepperdine University, and through the American Bar Association. He has been a mediator since 1999 and is a frequently published writer and seminar speaker on the subject of mediation. Doug has mediated over 2,000 cases involving a broad spectrum of civil litigation matters with a strong emphasis on personal injury, employment, real estate, construction defect, homeowners’ association and commercial contract disputes.
