No. Newly admitted attorneys are exempt from Arkansas CLE requirements for the year for the year they are admitted to the bar. Newly admitted attorneys must complete their first set of 12 required Arkansas CLE hours the reporting period that follows the reporting period in which they are admitted.
Yes, Arkansas attorneys can carry over up to 12 excess CLE hours, including 1 ethics hour, into the next annual reporting cycle.
Yes, under the Arkansas CLE Rules we must monitor your course attendance and completion. For online streaming video courses you must click on randomly inserted pop ups during the video to confirm that you are viewing the course. For downloadable courses we have embedded numeric codes in the courses. You must write these numbers down and then after you complete the course you must enter the codes on the website to obtain your course certificate. Please note that the date you enter the codes and get the certificate is the date that will be printed on the certificate.
Attorney Credits does not report your completed courses to the Arkansas Continuing Legal Education Board. We do maintain a record of all your completed courses and you can access your certificates of completion at anytime from our website.
You MUST SIGN and send in your certificates of completion to the Supreme Court of Arkansas Office of Professional Programs. You can email your certificates to: clearkansas@arcourts.gov. Or you can mail your certificates to 501 Woodlane St, Ste 303, Little Rock, AR 72201-1026.
A final report from the previous reporting cycle will be mailed to you before July 31. If you are in compliance, you do not need to take any further steps. If you are deficient CLE hours, then you must sign and return the acknowledgment of deficiency form by August 31 and complete the remainder of the requirement by December 1st. You must then report the deficient hours by December 15.
