Yes, under the Maine CLE Requirements we must monitor your course attendance and completion. For online streaming video courses you must click on randomly inserted pop ups during the video to confirm that you are viewing the course. For downloadable CLE courses we have embedded numeric codes in the courses. You must write these number codes down and then enter them on our website after you complete the course to obtain your course certificate. Please note that the date you enter the codes and get the certificate is the date that will be printed on the certificate.
No. Attorney Credits does not report your completed courses to the Maine Board of Overseers of the Bar. Maine attorneys must self-report their hours. We do maintain a record of all your completed courses and you can access your certificates of completion at anytime from our website.
You must send in your properly executed certificates of completion to the Maine Board of Overseers of the Bar.
When you file your annual registration statement, you must sign and submit your Annual Report to the Maine Board of Overseers of the Bar. The Annual Report must list the course titles, dates, locations, sponsors and number of credit hours of all CLE activities completed during the preceding calendar year. Registration statements must be filed before August 31.

Attorney Credits online & downloadable CLE courses have all been approved for Maine CLE credit by the Maine Board of Overseers of the Bar. Under the CLE Rules, attorneys may complete up to 5 general CLE credit hours through Maine online CLE courses as part of the annual 12 hour Maine CLE requirement.
Attorneys in Maine must complete 12 ME CLE credit hours each annual ME CLE compliance period, including 1 hour of legal ethics or professionalism AND 1 hours of recognition and avoidance of harassment and discriminatory conduct. ONLY general hours may be completed by online CLE courses. The ME CLE compliance period begins on January 1 and ends on December 31. CLE hours earned in each calendar year should be reported to the Board of Overseers in June or July of the following year in connection with the filing of the annual registration statement. Maine attorneys that fail to sign and submit the Annual Report Statement demonstrating compliance with the ME mandatory CLE requirements by August 31 risk being fined and suspended. Maine attorneys may complete up to 5 hours of general ME CLE credit each year earned through on-demand CLE courses that have been approved by the Maine Board of Overseers of the Bar.
