State Rules

The District of Columbia Bar does not have mandatory or minimum continuing legal education requirements, although its members are encouraged to engage in such continuing legal education as is necessary to maintain their competence to practice law.

Newly Admitted Attorneys

Newly admitted D.C. attorneys are required to take the mandatory course on the D.C. Rules of Professional Conduct and Practice. This is offered by the D.C. Bar.
