There is no special requirement for newly admitted Kansas attorneys. Please note that a newly admitted attorney is exempt from the CLE requirement for the remainder of the compliance period they are admitted to practice law in Kansas.
Yes, up to 10 general credit hours may be carried over to the next compliance period. However, ethics and professionalism hours in excess of the 2 hour requirement may be carried forward as general credit hours but not as ethics and professionalism credits. Also note that online credit hours may not be carried forward.
Yes, under the Kansas CLE Requirements we must monitor your completion of the course. For online streaming video courses you must click on randomly inserted pop ups to confirm that you are viewing the video. For downloadable courses we have embedded numeric codes in the courses. You must write these numbers down and then enter them on our website after you complete the course to obtain your course certificate. Please note that the date you enter the codes and get the certificate is the date that will be printed on the certificate.
Yes, Attorney Credits does report your completed courses to Kansas CLE. We report your attendance to Kansas CLE. Our automated attendance reports run weekly on Thursday. We report through the Kansas website normally within two business days of the reporting running. In addition, we also maintain a record of all your completed courses and you can access your certificates of completion at anytime from our website.
All Kansas attorneys will receive an annual report of compliance from Kansas CLE. Once you receive the report you have 30 days to update it. If you don't update it, the annual report will be filed with the Kansas Supreme Court. The reporting deadline is July 31.
