Twelve NM MCLE credit hours every year - including 2 required hours of legal ethics.

How do Attorney Credits' MCLE courses qualify for credit in New Mexico?

All of our online and downloadable on-demand MCLE courses have been approved for MCLE credit by the New Mexico MCLE Board. Online and downloadable MCLE courses are considered self-study credit in New Mexico.

What are my MCLE compliance and reporting requirements?

Is there a special requirement for newly admitted attorneys?

Yes, newly admitted attorneys must complete the NM Bridge the Gap program. Please note that newly admitted attorneys are exempt from the MCLE requirement for the remainder of the calendar year they are admitted to the State Bar of New Mexico assuming they have completed the Bridge the Gap program.

Does Attorney Credits offer the NM Bridge the Gap program?

No, we do not offer the Bridge the Gap program

Can I carry hours forward to the next year?

Yes and no. A maximum of 12 hours may be carried over to the next compliance period, 10 general and 2 legal ethics credit hours. You may NOT carry over self-study computer based CLE courses to the next compliance period.

Does Attorney Credits verify my completion?

Yes, under the New Mexico MCLE Requirements we must monitor your completion of the course. For online streaming video courses you must click on randomly inserted pop ups to confirm that you are viewing the video. For downloadable courses we have embedded numeric codes in the courses. You must write these numbers down and then enter them on our website after you complete the course to obtain your course certificate. Please note that the date you enter the codes and get the certificate is the date that will be printed on the certificate.

Does Attorney Credits report my MCLE hours to the New Mexico MCLE Board?

Yes, Attorney Credits does report your completed courses to the State Bar of New Mexico. Our automated attendance reports run weekly on Thursday. We report through the New Mexico website normally within two days of the report running. In addition, we also maintain a record of all your completed courses and you can access your certificates of completion at anytime from our website.

How do I report the completion of my MCLE requirement at the end of my compliance period?

The New Mexico MCLE Board will mail you an annual report by February 28. The annual report will indicate whether you have completed the New Mexico MCLE requirements for the compliance year or whether you have a deficiency in MCLE credit hours. You must notify the New Mexico MCLE Board of any errors or omission in your annual report statement and cure any MCLE deficiency. The deadline for reporting MCLE credit hours earned in the previous year is May 1.
