Attorneys must complete 30 Illinois CLE credits every two years as part of the Illinois Continuing Legal Education requirement, including 4 credit hours of Professional Responsibility, 1 hour of diversity and 1 hour of mental health and substance abuse. The Illinois Continuing Legal Education compliance deadline is June 30 and the reporting deadline is July 31. If your last name starts with A-M, your two-year compliance period begins July 1 of even numbered years. If your last name starts with A-M, your two-year compliance period begins July 1 of odd numbered years. All Illinois attorneys are required to report non-compliance or exemptions at the end of the two-year reporting period.
